— Cynthia L., Texas
I was right in the midst of teacher burnout. I was drained-physically, emotionally, mentally. But now, I’ve been working out consistently, making my family my priority by leaving work at work as often as I can, and I don’t stay late anymore. My class babies are sweet this year, and I also have chosen kindness when it comes to toxic coworkers. I’ve taken a deep look at my inner self and been reflective on what I need most. I’ve also started eating foods that nourish my body. I have found some amazing tools as well as a newfound friend and coach to help me along the way… I can’t thank you enough!
— Angela S., Mississippi

I first met Meredith several years ago when my son was in her 8th grade English class.  I got to know her very well over the course of that year, and was consistently - and thoroughly - impressed by her.  I got to know her further when my younger daughter was also assigned to her class and benefited from Meredith’s excellent instruction. She has shown unfailing professionalism and dedication to her work.  Whether by e-mail, letter, or face-to-face conversation, she is a superlative communicator.  She has impeccable moral standards, treating each child under her tutelage with the same level of concern and engagement, irrespective of the child’s skill level or even attitude (and certainly without regard to gender, race, socioeconomic status, etc.).  She is someone who is not only a very hard worker, but also a smart, engaged, contemplative individual, someone who is utterly dedicated to the field of education and who is gifted at building bridges across diverse groups.
— Jennifer J.
Meredith is an amazing human being, woman, writer, and teacher. Over the past several years, I have witnessed her sharing her heart and touching people’s lives with her inspiring, poignant words and deeply caring, reflective, soulful heart. She is an extraordinary teacher as evidenced by the grateful feedback and words of thanks she so often receives from her students and their parents. If you were blessed to have a special teacher in your youth who really made an impact and profound difference in your life, know that Meredith IS that teacher for so many. She is relatable, passionate, beyond competent, and has a wealth of experience not only professionally, but personally, in terms of how to live an authentic, well-rounded, meaningful, healthy life from the inside out. She walks the walk.
— Dawn M
Meredith sees herself as a member of a larger learning community with responsibilities that extend to making a difference in school cultures. She is a gifted and resourceful teacher with the capacity to incorporate a variety of approaches and strategies to engage and motivate students. She is a “can-do” person who is committed to continuing growth and development for herself and her peers. Her attention to detail, good humor, and admirable work ethic are qualities required for strong leadership.  She works tirelessly to develop individual strengths in others.  Whether speaking or writing, she communicates with diverse groups in a natural and clear fashion.  Meredith is a team player who works to achieve common goals for the education of all children.
— Jan E.
Meredith exemplifies excellence in every facet of her teaching. She not only knows and loves her subject, but she is also sensitive, creative, and truly committed to her students, her school, and the community. Those fortunate students who pass through her classes are engendered with a commitment to excellence so well modeled by this outstanding educator. Meredith understands that just as each student has unique needs, so does each group of students. Her patience, persistence, and implementation of innovative strategies encourage and engage students.. She also gives unselfishly of her time to benefit her students, school, and community. In addition to being highly competent, creative, and caring, Meredith is an energetic team player.

I just wanted to thank you, not just for being a great teacher but being a great person. Freshman year was a dark time for me, with my mom getting sick I felt completely lost and alone. I didn’t tell any of my teachers because I knew they would just brush it off, but you were always different. You always were there to listen even if it was some mundane thing. You are a teacher in every sense of the word and for that I am forever grateful. You recognized and appreciated my love for writing and people, and always supported me. I struggled heavily with mental health issues but coming into your class was a breath of fresh air. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
